Council Meeting Minutes June 29, 2004

Present: Reeve David Moore and Councillors Gerald Bell, Don Hindle, Jury Naklowych and Debbie Zulak

04-170 That the Township of McKellar accept the minutes of the June 21, 2004 Council meeting as circulated.

Carried

Visitors: Mr. Scott McKever from iPlancorp and Mr. Joe Villeneuve from the Township of the Archipelago were in attendance to review with Council the joint proposal to FedNor for the funding of a Geographic Information System (GIS) Strategic Plan for the West Parry Sound Area Municipalities. Mr. McKever provided a presentation on how GIS could be utilized in the Township's business functions and outlined the goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan. Reeve Moore thanked the gentlemen for their presentation.

04-171 That the Township of McKellar participate in the joint West Parry Sound Area GIS Strategic Plan subject to matching funding from FedNor. The Treasurer is hereby authorized to transfer the Township's total cost of $5,000.00 from the General Government reserve fund.

Councillor Hindle declared a conflict of interest on the following motion and vacated his chair.

04-172 That the Township of McKellar instruct the Clerk to advertise for a permanent part-time (25 hours/week) Fire Chief and Council hereby adopt the attached job description.

Carried

Councillor Hindle returned to his chair.

04-173 That the Township of McKellar adjourn to meet again on July 5, 2004 or at the call of the Reeve. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
