The Township of McKellar Economic Development Committee is offering the following McKellar Pioneer College courses for this Fall. To register please bring your payment to the Township Office (payable to "Township of McKellar") prior to the start date of the class. Class sizes are limited, so register early!
GROW YOUR OWN SHITAKE MUSHROOMS - 1 class on Saturday, October 17th, 10:00a.m. - 1:00p.m. at the McKellar Council Chambers. Cost is $25.00. Instructor - Jack Hay. Pre-drilled, ready to go logs with spores will be available to purchase at the class for $35.
KNITTING - 2 AND 4 NEEDLE - 4 classes on Thursdays 7:00 p.m. - 9:00p.m., October 15, 22, 29, and November 5th at the McKellar Council Chambers. Cost is $30.00. Instructor - Evelyn Moore. Course outline and supply list will be available upon registration.
KITCHEN BASICS - 3 classes on Saturdays 9:30a.m. - 2:30p.m., November 14, 21, and 28 at the McKellar Community Centre (kitchen). Cost is $25.00 per class, or $70.00 for all 3 classes. Includes light lunch and samples. Instructor - Maureen Bell. Classes cover soups, sauces, pickles, quick breads, mayonaise, etc. To view course outline click here.
HAND-DIPPED BEESWAX TAPER CANDLES - 1 class on Saturday, November 7th 1:00p.m. - 3:30p.m. at The Straw House Gallery, 3 Lakeside Drive McKellar.
Cost is $35.00. Includes 6 tapers to take home. Instructor- Wave Weir.
