Council Meeting Minutes March 17, 2008

08-69 That the Township of McKellar accept the minutes of the March 3, 2008 Council meeting as circulated.

Visitors: Mr. Dan McCauley, Chair, and Mr. Rod Hall, Treasurer of the West Parry Sound District Museum were present to highlight activities at the Museum during 2007 and review the 2007 financial statements and 2008 budget. Mr. McCauley stated that 2008 is the Museum's 15^th year of operation and the Board is looking into refurbishing the permanent exhibit. Reeve Moore thanked the gentlemen for the update.

Mr. Bill Spinney, Manager, Community Business and Development Centre and Ms. Kelly Krist, Manager, Georgian Bay Country were in attendance to review with Council their mandate of financing mentoring /counselling, marketing and promotion for small to medium sized businesses in the Parry Sound Area. Ms. Krist gave an overview of Georgian Bay Country Tourism marketing and promotional activities and updated Council on the operations of the Tourist Visitor Centre.

Mr. Tom King was recognized by the Chair. Mr. King requested that Council consider providing drinking water to the public. Council stated that they would look into it.

08-70 That the Township of McKellar hereby give By-law No. 2008-08, being a by-law to amend By-law No. 95-12 for Part of Lot 15, Concession 9 (Sorra), First and Second reading.

08-71 That the Township of McKellar hereby give By-law No. 2008-08, being a by-law to amend By-law No. 95-12 for Part of Lot 15, Concession 9 (Sorra), Third reading and Passed in Open Council this 17th day of March, 2008.

08-72 That the Township of McKellar accept the 2007 audited financial statements prepared by Michael Turner, CA, and authorize the Reeve and Clerk to sign the post audit letter.

08-73 That the Township of McKellar instruct the Public Works Superintendent to investigate improving the safety of Centre Road at Middle River Bridge including costs. Public Works Superintendent to obtain quotes for survey work at Middle River bridge. To get back to council April 7, 2008.

08-74 That the Township of McKellar request proposals for the supply and installation of two 8'x16' floating docks and ramp as per the attached.

08-75 That the Township of McKellar approve the Roads Superintendent to attend the Case Tomahawk Experience Center in Tomahawk Wisconsin on April 8^th, 9^th and 10^th . Wages to be paid.
