The McKellar Active Living Fair

On Saturday, June 22^nd, 2013 from 10:00am to 2:00pm

At the McKellar Community Centre Grounds

Showcasing a wide variety of expertise, talent, businesses, programs and services in McKellar that help to promote healthy lifestyles and general wellness.

The Canadian Junior Dragon Boat Team will also be a having a Fish Fry Fundraiser throughout the Fair hours.

Those interested in a booth, table, or presenting at the event should contact the McKellar Township Office (705-389-2842).

Trails Open Ontario and Doors Open Ontario

Saturday, September 28th, 2013

McKellar will be participating in Trails Open and Doors Open Ontario.

The Balsam Trail will be showcased with guided Wilderness and Photography Walks scheduled during the day.

Free kayaking, canoeing, and standup board demos and workshops will be offered by White Squall and will take place on the Armstrong Lake beach behind the McKellar Community Centre.

The Evelyn Watkins Moore Heritage Room will have its doors open with guided tours through the artifacts and displays.

As well, McKellar Walking Tour Booklets will be available at the Heritage Room so that you can guide yourself through the Village of McKellar on an actual stroll down memory lane.

October to April

Tuesdays - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

May, June, and September

Tuesdays - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Thursdays - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

July and August

Tuesdays - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Saturdays - 11:00am to 1:00pm

The Evelyn Watkins Moore Heritage Room showcases artifacts and items of historical significance to the legacy of the McKellar community. Guided tours are available, or come in and browse through the local history.

The Heritage Room is always looking for donations of artifacts.

Walking Program

The Walking Program will start on Monday, October 15, 2012 and continue until mid-May 2013 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. when the Community Centre is available.
