Council Meeting Minutes July 16, 2007

Present: Reeve David Moore and Councillors Gerald Bell, Tamara Black, Jury Naklowych and Debbie Zulak

07-154 That the Township of McKellar accept the minutes of the July 3, 2007 Council meeting as circulated.

Carried

Visitors: Mr. Henry Beier, owner of Riverlake Cottages was present to lodge a noise complaint. Mr. Beier requested that Council enforce the provisions of the noise by-law. Discussion ensued regarding the provisions of the noise by-law.

 

Councillor Black declared a conflict of interest on the following deputation and motion and vacated her chair.

Mr. Glenn Robinson, Secretary of the Parry Sound Area Planning Board, was present to review application for consent, file No. B14/2007 (Moore).

07-155 That the Township of McKellar approve application for consent, file No. B14/2007 (Moore) subject to the various commenting agency approvals and the parkland provisions being met.

07-156 That the Township of McKellar authorize the Reeve and Clerk to execute the COMRIF Agreement for Asset Management funding.

07-157 That the Township of McKellar supports the efforts of Belevedere Heights Board of Management to improve the CMI and to secure higher levels of Provincial funding that will offset the Municipal operating levies.

07-158 That the Township of McKellar tender for the supply and application of approximately 170,000 kg of H.F. 150 S Emulsion, 928 tonnes Class II aggregate surface treatment on Hurdville and Centre Road and 4,600 tonnes of 5/8's quarried granular M.

07-159 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Municipality of McDougall's resolution requesting "the EMS Committee to reconfigure the representation on the committee such that each municipality has one equal vote. AND THAT the EMS committee supply all municipalities with the reports that justified the purchase of two rural response units along with their specifications and that Ministry of Health report on the competitive tender for such units. AND THAT the EMS Committee supply the municipalities with the report, plans and specifications for the construction of a land ambulance building to be constructed in Pointe au Baril at a reported cost of $980,000."

07-160 That the Township of McKellar endorse the City of Greater Sudbury's resolution endorsing Bill 150, a Bill to raise the minimum wage to $10.00/hour immediately and not by 2010 as outlined in the spring 2007 budget.

07-161 That the Township of McKellar endorse the City of Owen Sound's resolution requesting the Province to pay for 100% of Court Security costs.

07-162 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Municipality of Whitestone's resolution petitioning the provincial government not to include the Districts of Parry Sound and Nipissing under the Aggregate Resources Act.
