Emergency Calls

For Police, Ambulance and Fire emergencies call 9-1-1
For non-emergency calls (705) 389-9597 or (705) 389-2842 during business hours.

For emergencies you will be asked:
   What is the emergency?
   Where is the emergency? The Civic address, street name as well as any intersections or landmarks.
   Who needs the help? Age and medical history would be helpful.
   Is anyone trapped?
   Is anyone still in the building?
Try to remain calm and speak slowly and clearly. You may be asked additional questions so the dispatcher can send the right kind of help.  Wait for the the dispatcher to hang up before you do.

Before the Fire Department arrives:
   Assure everyone that help is on the way.
   Keep the phone line clear after the 9-1-1 call has been made.
   Direct someone to wait outside to meet the firefighters and lead the way.
   Wave a flashlight or turn on flashers of a car or porch light if it is dark.
   Secure pets in a separate area.
   Have a visible civic address number, easily readable from the street.
   In case of fire or cabon monoxide alarm, exit the building and immediately await arrival of the Fire Department.
