Visitors: Mr. Paul Beauregard was present to request a grant from the municipality to help maintain Fire Routes 152, 152B, Peninsula Shores Drive and Bay Drive. Reeve Moore provided Mr. Beauregard with a copy of Regulation 119/03, Local Improvement Charges, and suggested that the residents on the road be approached regarding bringing the roads up to standard under a local improvement charge and the municipality assuming maintenance once the construction has been completed. Reeve Moore thanked Mr. Beauregard for attending and suggested he contact the municipal office if he had any questions regarding Regulation 119/03.

Mr. Gord Zulak was present to update Council on the McKellar Agricultural Advisory Committee and to request that Council endorse the County of Prince Edward's resolution objecting to the Proposed Strategy for Wolves by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Reeve Moore thanked Mr. Zulak for the update and stated that a resolution would be on Council's next agenda.

05-133 That the Township of McKellar accept the tender of Fowler Construction Company Ltd. in the amount of $55,334.73 for the supply, delivery and application of crushed granite as per tender.

05-134 WHEREAS the Township of McKellar, in a letter dated March 22, 2005, requested that the proposed representation model for the soon to be formed North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit be amended to include the Township of McKellar with the West Parry Sound District municipalities; and

WHEREAS

the Transition Director, Paddy Buchanan, in a letter dated March 29, 2005 stated that in order to achieve changes to Regulation 559, a municipality and the Board of Health would have to make a recommendation to the Minister of Health and Long Term Care for its consideration and recommendation of an amendment to the Lieutenant Governor in Council;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED

that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of McKellar hereby recommends to the Minister of Health and Long Term Care that Regulation 559 as amended by Regulation 65/05 be further amended by removing the Township of McKellar from Area #5 and placing the Township of McKellar in Area #6;

AND FURTHER

that the Board of the North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit be requested to pass a similar resolution requesting the Minister of Health and Long Term Care to amend Regulation 559 as per the above; and

THAT

a copy of this resolution be circulated to all member municipalities on the Health Unit for their consideration and endorsement.

05-135 That the Township of McKellar authorize the Reeve and Clerk to sign the agreement with Industry Canada dated May 3, 2005 under the Fednor Youth Internship Initiative.

05-136 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Township of King's resolution requesting the Premier of Ontario "to take immediate action to do what is right for the citizens of this province, to do what is best for community safety and to protect the rights of individuals by enacting legislation to protect emergency volunteer workers without further delay and standup for the safety of our communities."

05-137 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Region of Durham's resolution requesting that the Province of Ontario incorporate the Slow Moving Farm Vehicle Signage as a Provincial standard.

05-138 That the Township of McKellar agree in principle to leasing the West Parry Sound Health Centre municipal property to erect a communication tower, subject to entering into a satisfactory agreement with the Township.
