VISITORS: Ms. Melvina Marsh, a tenant of the Museum and a ratepayer of the Township was present to speak in favour of the Township providing long term financial support for the West Parry Sound District Museum. A general discussion of the museum's financial situation ensued. Reeve Moore thanked Ms. Marsh for attending and sharing her views with Council.

05-62 WHEREAS the Board of the West Parry Sound District Museum has approached the seven West Parry Sound District Municipalities for ongoing financial support on a long-term, annual basis;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED
that the Council of the Township of McKellar agree to financially support the West Parry Sound District Museum using a levy formula based on 1/3 assessment, 1/3 population and 1/3 households figures and direct the Treasurer to release the 2005 contribution of $9,141.27 conditional upon all West Parry Sound Area Municipalities making the same commitment for 2005. Funding to the museum to be reviewed on an annual basis.

05-65 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Association of Municipal Tax Collectors of Ontario's resolution urging the Province of Ontario "to amend the legislation commencing for the 2006 taxation year, to specify that once a property reaches CVA (current value assessment) taxation, it remains at CVA taxes regardless of the result of future reassessments."

05-66 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Town of Hanover's resolution requesting the following:
"1. That a representative from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario be allowed to take part in salary deliberations between the Province of Ontario and the Ontario Provincial Police.
That the financial burden of policing to municipalities be looked at as part of the Community Reinvestment Fund (CRF) review by the Province of Ontario.
