Council Meeting Minutes February 11, 2004

Present: Reeve David Moore and Councillors Gerald Bell, Don Hindle, Jury Naklowych and Debbie Zulak

04-35 That the Township of McKellar accept the minutes of the February 2, 2004 Council meeting as circulated.

Visitors: Brenda Liegler, Per Furst, Tom Lumley, Mike Jackson and David Harmer representing the Ministry of Transportation were present to discuss with Council the culvert replacement on Highway #124 in the Village of McKellar. Mr. Furst indicated to Council that the preferred option was an open concrete box type culvert with no bottom. Mr. Furst also stated that due to high water levels and environmental constraints, the culvert replacement would not take place until May. Mr. Harmer explained to Council the construction process and the requirement for a detour which may require a single lane and traffic lights. Reeve Moore stated that it was Council's preference not to restrict traffic to one lane if at all possible. Sidewalks were also discussed and the Ministry will be getting back to the Township with a costing. Reeve Moore thanked the delegation for attending and keeping Council updated.

04-36 That the Township of McKellar instruct the Clerk to prepare a By-law permitting ATV's on municipal roads, save and except the attached list of non-assumed municipal roads.

04-37 That the Township of McKellar instruct the Township Planner to prepare a report to Council on the need for a revision of the Official Plan having regard to the Provincial Policy Statements in accordance with Section 26 of the Planning Act.

04-38 That the Township of McKellar adjourn to meet again on February 16, 2004 or at the call of the Reeve. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
