04-254 That the Township of McKellar accept the minutes of the September 15, 2004 special Council meeting as circulated.

04-255 That the Township of McKellar hereby give By-law No. 2004-21, being a by-law to appoint Leonard Brown to fill the vacant seat on Council, First and Second reading.

04-256 That the Township of McKellar hereby give By-law No. 2004-21, being a by-law to appoint Leonard Brown to fill the vacant seat on Council, Third reading and Passed in Open Council this 20th day of September, 2004.

Councillor Brown took the required Declaration of Office and assumed his chair at the Council table.

 

Visitors: Mr. Glenn Robinson, Secretary of the Planning Board, was present to review with Council application for consent, file #B24/2004 (Sommer).

Mr. Bob Hughes of Georgian Engineering was present to review with Council the tenders for the sand/salt storage building and site work.

04-259 That the Township of McKellar accept the tender of Storage Systems Construction Corp. in the amount of $208,802.50 plus G.S.T. for the supply and construction of a sand/salt storage building as per tender and correspondence from Georgian Engineering.

04-265 That the Township of McKellar endorse Oxford County's resolution suggesting that improvements to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) be implemented immediately to avoid further costs resulting from inefficiencies that are burdening Ontario property owners.

04-266 That the Township of McKellar endorse the Town of Halton Hills' resolution requesting "the Premier of Ontario to initiate immediate action to protect the rights of fire fighters, both career and volunteer, to afford fire protection to the citizens of Ontario in the manner they see fit without undue fire fighter union interference."
